Christenbury Eye Center has been providing patients with 20/20 vision since 1986 with a superior combination of vision care experience, the latest medical technology and outstanding customer service and results.
Dr. Jonathan Christenbury – one of the most experienced LASIK surgeons nationwide – has performed more than 75,000 LASIK procedures. He performed the first all laser IntraLasik procedure on the East Coast in 2001, the first WaveFront custom LASIK in the Carolinas in 2005, and the first Zeiss Visu-Max LASIK in the Carolinas in 2012.
For patients too nearsighted for LASIK, he provides Visian ICL – a procedure he has been performing since 2005. Dr. Christenbury is also the most experienced ReSTOR® surgeon in North America. The ReSTOR procedure corrects vision for patients that would like to eliminate reading glasses and bifocals. This year, Dr. Christenbury was the first doctor in the Carolinas to perform CATALYS in-office laser cataract surgery.
Dr. Casey Mathys, a fellowship-trained cornea and refractive surgeon, joined Christenbury Eye Center in 2009. Dr. Mathys and Dr. Christenbury combine expert ability with the forefront of technology to correct vision of all ages. They utilize the only Zeiss VisuMax laser in the Carolinas which pulses 500,000 times a second and provides 98% of patients with 20/20 or better vision.
